SWWU out and about: DCAS and GWAS

The past few weeks have given the archers of SWWU ample opportunity to put their bowsmanship (?) to the test against the best the region and indeed the county, has to offer.  No, this isn’t the introduction to a BUCS post (which will be coming shortly), but the regional GWAS and DCAS shoots.  DCAS was the smaller and cozier of the two events, hosted by Yelverton Bowmen at YMCA Plymouth.  The quality of the archery was top drawer and the quality of the post-competition raffle more so; Yelverton pulled out the stops to ensure that this years DCAS champs was a shoot to remember.

The scores on the doors:

Alex Rowe (recurve): 1st 

Me (barebow): 1st

Marilyn Wong (barebow): 1st 

Charlie Semmens (longbow): 1st

GWAS served as the battle of the Alex’s, SWWU coordinators past and present.  Alex beat Alex by a slim margin of three points. 

The scores on the doors:

Alex Williams (recurve): 2nd 

Alex Rowe (recurve): 3rd                

Sophie Brain (barebow): 2nd
