Yoohoo big SWWUmmer blowout!

SWWU were out in force this weekend, with archers competing up and down the country!

In Redruth, Tom Ledgerwood and Surabhi Desai (Exeter) as well as Lonja Selter, Alex Rowe, Joe Tripp, Emma King and Kerry Marks (Plymouth) competed in the Devon & Cornwall Outdoor Championships, shooting Double 1440 rounds. There were a number of notable performances from both days, including Lonja being crowned county champion in the men's barebow category, with scores of 907 and 727. Tom picked up silver medals on both days in the men's recurve category, with scores of 1198 and 1161, whilst Surabhi beat her personal best in the ladies' recurve category on both days, scoring 1092 on Saturday and 1101 on Sunday.

Further north, James, Aubrey and Paddy (Swansea) competed in the Glamorgan County Championships, shooting Double 720 rounds. All archers shot incredibly well, with Aubrey taking 1st place in the ladies' barebow category, James taking 3rd in men's barebow and Paddy finishing 5th in men's compound.

But the SWWU action doesn't stop there, as this coming Sunday, Bristol are hosting the first ever SWWU summer slam! 28 archers from across the region are descending on Dingle to battle it out in a Head to Head event that is sure to entertain the masses. Best of luck to all that are shooting, but if you can't come and join us, you can follow the scores on Ianseo, here.
